COLOURFUL GREY wurden 2001 gegründet, und seitdem sind die fünf Frankfurter für ihre energiegeladenen Liveshows sogar schon über die Grenzen der Republik hinaus bekannt. Nach zwei mittlerweile ausverkauften EPs wurde das Debut-Album „It´s so o.k.“ im April 2003 auf Triple Eggs Records veröffentlicht, worauf zwei Touren in Deutschland und eine weitere, die sie durch die Niederlande bis nach England führte, folgten. Vor Ort überzeugten die Jungs die anwesenden Mitarbeiter von Lockjaw Records derart, dass diese ihnen sofort einen Vertrag anboten. Mit diesem erfahrenen Label im Rücken wird nun das zweite Album von COLOURFUL GREY im Oktober 2005 weltweit veröffentlicht.

Den Sound der Frankfurter Band COLOURFUL GREY kann man als melancholischen und temporeichen Indie-Rock bezeichnen, wobei sowohl Einflüsse aus der Post-Punk/Wave-Ära der 80er und der amerikanischen College-Rock/Emocore-Welle der 90er deutlich herauszuhören sind. Daneben setzt die markante Stimme Philipp Lemhöfers die poetischen bis humorvollen Texte über Liebe, Verzweiflung und Überwindung perfekt in Szene

COLOURFUL GREY schreiben wunderbare Melodien, die sofort im Ohr hängen bleiben und zum Mitsingen animieren, nur um danach mit einem wilden Inferno wieder alles zu zerlegen. Ihr Sound ist fesselnd und tanzbar zugleich, jedoch stets mitreißend.

LAWFOUNDGUILT (A)

It was our uncompromising love for hardcore music, which brought us four guys from Perg (OÖ) together. And so the first brick was placed for the Band lawfoundguilt in fall 1999. After several months of songwriting, practising, a large amount of gigs and some lineup changes, our first demo CD “The odd one out” finally was born in September 2001. It´s unmistakable that this first demo is based on hardcore, but you can also hear the first emorock influences. When we finished our second demo CD “Let´s call it a day” in July 2002 we changed our typical hardcore sound to a more sensitive one, but we never thought about cutting out the heavy parts. What you where able to hear in our first two demos, we emphasized in our third demo CD “Trains about to leave” in Spring 2004. For us as a band, it´s the main priority to create a typical “lawfoundguilt – sound” that won´t end up in musical unimportance. Don´t just stand there staring at the boarders, use the huge amount of musical genres to create something different. Every single silent moment follows screaming and when you walk in the sun you´re always stalked by your own shadow. We want to show up the audience both sides of being alive, the white one (it´s grace and beauty) and the black one (the harsh reality of life). And this is what we´re doing since the last six years.
