Netlabel der Woche

Hallo Leute...

Zitat
The german word Stadtgruen describes the urban parks and gardens where the modern spirit can ground itself and harmonize with its roots.

The netlabel Stadtgruen would like to consider the alive contradiction which lies in the fundamental but vivid antithesis of culture (stadt) and nature (gruen). A basic idea of the occidental culture is the rational division of the world into two parts. Body and spirit, nature and culture, on this side and hereafter are dialectic poles of our world recognition that is reflected in our living together, our language and our arts. Each human generation has got the task to analyze this relationship anew, to set its own point of view and to create a new synthesis. Thereby sometimes naturalness is outweighing, sometimes artificiality, depending upon the evolution step and the technical possibilities.

With the progressive digitization of our world a new level of artificiality is reached. Reality is doubled digitally and demands nature on an even higher step.

The arts have the function to make this new challenge transparent: they can polarize in order to get on a higher level of recognition, but they have to harmonize again the separated in their work in order to bring the recognized back to live.

In addition, the global digitization contributed to the fact that art is no longer an elitist affair. Nowadays many people all over the world can take part in the building up and approximation of their cultures. Stadtgruen wants to set a highlight on those people which avail themselves of the possibilities of contemporary electronics, in order to create their musical contribution for the harmonization of the contrasts: this is our special matter of concern.

We promote clear artistic statements which want to reach new levels of musical synthesis beyond separating analysis. We take our mission minimal concepts for you pleasure seriously. Beyond retrospective chilling music, we present artists who are able to integrate the dynamic development of those contemporary electronics into their own innovative concepts, and to transform them into new harmonies. Thereby our music-theoretical starting point is the classical Minimal Music with its current developments of the Clicks&Cuts scene, Minimal Dub and Minimal Techno.

For us stadt+gruen depicts no longer an antithesis, but poles causing each other within the virulent electronic culture of the third millennium. To show this principle both in whole and in part, we are going to present the more urban aspects of music as [stadt] and its more natural side as [gruen].

Heavy Industries

Heavy Industries was realized in 2001 by two producers living in Boston, Massachusetts. Steve Eagle
(Fabrik Nos) and Evan LaPann (Simex) had both been following the movements of the online electronic
music scene for several years - from sites like mp3.com to Ampcast, to independent collectives and
netlabel groups. A common denominator was found in all of these places: untapped and amazing
musical talent. While this music was readily available to those who knew where to look for it, it still was
not accessible for the vast majority of music seekers. Because of this, Heavy Industries was formed,
not only to spread this music farther but to act as a meeting ground for people with similar interests
from all around the world.

We began setting up this new collective by recruiting the talents of several respected online producers
who had already established themselves through traditional labels as well as netlabels or online music
portals. All of these producers respected the vision we had for their music, and for Heavy Industries as
a whole. At this time we did not set our sights specifically on the techno genre. However, over time we
began to streamline our focus, and we became known for a mixture of deep, hard and minimal techno
and tech-house.

Now, in 2005, we seek to continue our mission of providing top-quality music to those with a refined
taste in techno and dance music in general. While there may be plans down the road for all the vinyl
DJs, Heavy Industries will always be a place where digital DJs, techno freaks and everyone else can go
to hear this sort of music. If you enjoy this concept, then our mission will continue to exist.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us in the past and continues to do so today. We hope that this
international, uncontrolled approach to music and culture continues to thrive on the Internet and
wherever it might go in the future.

Was anderes:

Netaudio

und noch was:

Textone

textone is an online electronic music magazine and label, manifesting itself in word and
sound;
a channel that lets ideas and expressions circulate freely in public, with the goal of generating an open
exchange of thoughts and works within the electronic music community.

text: a forum for critical discussion of topics of interest to the electronic music scene and an outlet to let
artists make their voice heard without having to pay a pr agency for it. expect interviews, editorials,
controversial points of view, food for thought.

tone: a publishing platform (netlabel) for innovative electronic music not bound to the dictum of
commercialism. a counterweight to the overly restrictive licensing and distribution mechanisms
employed in the music industry today. while the point of departure for all releases is minimalism, no
dogmatic restriction to any particular genre exists. experimental home listening pieces are as likely to
be found on these pages as moving floor tracks for the final scratch or traktor dj. however, quality will
not be sacrificed for mere eclecticism. filtering and selection are among the most important functions of
a niche label. to accept and disseminate any type of submission regardless of context or quality is too
open-ended to have an impact on the small interest-bound community we operate in. simply because
textone does not charge for the tracks does not mean it will release material of inferior quality.
