Paula i Karol

For those of us who don't know them yet: Paula & Karol came onto the Polish folk pop stage 6 years ago, striking the country as the music scene’s odd couple. Paula – a half-Polish half-Canadian sociologist, met Karol, a musician from Warsaw, and started singing in English, giving concerts at backyard parties and on street corners. They quickly became pioneers in the now-growing indie pop music scene in Poland. Over the years the duo gathered a colorful cast of Warsaw musicians and started playing hundreds of concerts at home and abroad, producing albums both in their bedrooms as well as with Grammy-nominated producer Ryan Hadlock. Their sound mirrors their style - both DIY and refined, characterized by heart-wrenching lyrics and earworm melodies bordering pop, folk, punk and alternative. Paula and Karol's live performances are cited as being extremely heartfelt, emotional, bordering psychedelic.
